An art director in the world of advertising is constantly changing hats. We are designing things and telling people to design things for us—photographs, illustrations, packaging, logos, type and so on. We come up with ideas, present them, and then come up with even more ideas. We are constantly crossing the borders of art and commerce and striving to push the idea that commerce can be artful. We are reminded everyday that although there are commercial limitations, there can always be an elegant solution. So, with every project, I try to create something beautiful that is also useful.
When I'm not working or dancing around my house to the old school jams, I'm most likely designing textiles, running, doing yoga, spray paint stenciling or playing drums with Riddenpaa (www.myspace.com/riddenpaa) or Sleeping States (when they are in the States).
